June 2024 Newsletter

Greetings and salutations lovely peeps

Feeling grateful for the few summer days last week. We’ve had family visiting last week so this is going to be a short newsletter.

I’m slowly starting to clear out my bookcase of books no longer being read or referred to. In the process I found a book, Full Catastrophe Living - How to cope with stress, pain and illness with mindfulness meditation, which I’m enjoying dipping back into. I love those little synchronicities. The author is Jon Kabat-Zinn who did a lot of research with the Dalai Lama and Buddhist monks on how meditation changes the brain. This is a book worth having in your bookcase.

CranioSacral Therapy in June

I continue to talk about the interconnectedness of body and mind, and the role Craniosacral Therapy can play in helping you to experience that. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, stress, or simply seeking a deeper state of relaxation or looking to enhance your well-being.

By releasing physical restrictions, CST improves the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid plays a crucial role in protecting the brain, removing waste products, and delivering nutrients. Improved flow supports healthier brain function.

The gentle manipulations of CST also potentially stimulate neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to form and reorganize synaptic connections - the places where neurons connect and communicate with each other. This process is vital for learning, memory, and recovery from brain injuries. It has a calming effect on the nervous system and so is helpful for depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

All this has been said before and will, I’m sure, be said again.

“Practice sharing the fullness of your being, your best self, your enthusiasm, your vitality, your spirit,

your trust, your openness, above all, your presence. Share it with yourself, with your family, with the world.”

~Jon Cabat-Zinn

This month I’ve been watching Rewire your Brain with Joe Dispenza. As you can tell, this has been a month of the brain for me. What I think. How that shows up in my world. How can I change entrenched beliefs that were given to me in my developing years and experiences that confirmed those beliefs? How do I change my perspective on my world? Lots to do, but all do-able

On-line Grounding and Healing Meditation will be back on line on 15th July at 7pm.

The video link for the Meditation will be a rolling link to use every month - meet.google.com/xsx-grkj-sgb Just click on the link to take you to the video call.

I look forward to July and some warm weather again. It’s going to be another family orientated month.

And talking about family, this is a family event worth supporting in Morecambe on 6th & 7th July. The Good Things Collective House Warming. Come and experience Open Studios and Tour, an Exhibition Opening, Taster Workshops, Vegan Food and more. All this is happening alongside the Morecambe Bay Art Fair and the People’s Biennial.
