Greetings and salutations lovely peeps You can really feel the season change now, although this week we are having some glorious summery days balanced by very chilly mornings. The bees are still busy in my garden so it’s looking stragglier than usual. Winter is the time I really turn in and focus on my inner work and the older I get I feel the more I need to do it. So it’s cold and dark and let’s get creative with hygge - break out the candles and cozy blankets, buy a hot water bottle, make a big pot of soup and get your family and friends around.
CST this month This month, several clients have been wanting to find calm, peace and relaxation which CST is great at providing along side the neck, back and headaches clients. If this is you come and see me. This is the time for a maintenance treatment - to ready your body, mind and spirit for this winter season. Listening, and listening without judgement, as best you can, is a powerful healing tool. Being heard and witnessed when we are low or hurting helps us find the way forward out of the pain, anxiety and wounding. One of Upledger CST’s techniques is deep listening to the client’s voice and the body and I’ve been doing this for 20+ years. We are now approaching winter proper and these are the things to keep in mind and care for during this season. In Chinese Medicine the winter meridians of kidneys and urinary bladder are also associated with the following and a deficiency/problem with any one of them indicates an imbalance of the kidney or bladder meridians. element: water emotion: fear spirit: zhi (willpower) climate: cold colour: black/dark blue taste: salty sense organs: ears tissues: bone virtues: strength, courage, wisdom
“Our bodies love us so much that they will do anything necessary to bring us to a place in which we recognize and release our unlovingness toward ourselves that’s causing us deep heartache. The message of illness and pain may be It’s time to bring healing love into your energy field. You’ve been in emotional pain long enough. Let me turn up the volume by creating physical pain so you’ll pay attention and take care of your heart.” ― Christiane Northrup, Goddesses Never Age: The Secret Prescription for Radiance, Vitality, and Well-Being This month’s book is Anatomy of an Illness: As Perceived by the Patient by Norman Cousins I haven’t read this book (just ordered it though), but I was told the story during CST training and was captured by the possibility of being in control of our own healing. “Succumbing to a collagen-related disease, the author deduces that the remedies are increasing the problems, and with the support of his doctor pursues a programme of self-healing involving humour (comedy films and books) Vitamin C and a positive outlook). The results are successful. This leads to a brief study of the body's chemical response to a placebo and the contribution to self-healing that this can make. He further explores the link between creativity and longevity, citing nonogenarians and the power of creative outlets in maintaining health and mobility, the broader view of holistic healing and the response of doctors to his research.” Let’s take hold of the possibility of right change in our world now. Please share with me any thoughts you had after reading these words. And do feel free to unsubscribe if this is not for you. Blessings Trishx
