January Newsletter

Greetings and salutations on this January day of 2022. I don’t really need to say how very much our lives have changed in the last 2 years. During this time I was offering a live Facebook News Chat about self help techniques to keep us going. I decided at the end of 2021 that a change was needed and so this year I am birthing my new Email Newsletter. Please feel free to unsubscribe by reply email or text. However, if you are happy with what you receive please also feel free to pass on these newsletters. Please also feel free to comment and to ask questions. I will attempt to answer. And so, for the first of this series….. I love the exchange of learning that so often occurs between me, in my therapeutic role, and my patients. Not only in how uniquely we all respond to the gentle touch of CranioSacral therapy but also an exchange of information and experience. I was recently introduced to the inspiring Sister Madonna Buder, the “Iron Nun”, recently during a conversation around age with one of my patients. She is, or was in October 2021, at 90 years old still competing in Triathlons and had, as of that date completed 45 Ironman competitions. Watching and listening to this amazing woman she talked about the 7 D’s that are, in her opinion, required to achieve your dreams. First you have to dream. From the dream comes the Desire to actualise your dream. From your desire comes the Dedication without which nothing can be achieved. From the dedication comes the Discipline. Remember the discipline shown by our Olympic athletes to their training doing whatever it takes (early mornings, long hours) to achieve an olympic standard. This is the same dedication required to achieve anything – a successful business, a successful singer songwriter, resilient and robust health, robust fitness. Whatever it is, the formula is the same. From dedication comes Determination. Again, determination to succeed means dedicating yourself to your dream. From determination comes the chutzpah (a lovely Yiddish word for "gall, brazen nerve, effrontery, incredible 'guts', presumption plus arrogance such as no other word and no other language can do justice to") to Dare. And from to dare comes the action to DO it. The formula to achieve success in whatever you dream. What are your dreams/goals for 2022?
